Steve from 'Blues Clues' checks in with the adult fans he helped raise
We all need someone to listen like Steve from 'Blues Clues' listens.
Steve Burns, the first frontman for the popular show “Blues Clues” that premiered in 1996, has been checking in with the adult fans he helped raise for a few years now. I saw this video over the weekend and ended up watching it three or four times. There are no words to set this up appropriately, so I’ll just let you watch it first.
I guess I realized how depressed we all were a long time ago. There are so many things we could blame it on, I wouldn’t even know where to start. And it seems lazy and easy to say that the thing that was supposed to connect us all is the thing that’s turning us deeper and deeper into ourselves and away from each other. We’re so hungry for connection, even though we’re largely connected 24-7. The way the adult fans of Steve Burns responded to him just checking in, is pretty incredible. Here are a few of the comments on the video:
I just bought a house Steve. I'm 36 and I just bought a house. Steve. I have a home that I bought
Adulting is hard, Steve. Sometimes I just wish I'd never grown up and still watch Blues Clues. Anyway, thank you for always being here for us
I’m tired... and nobody understands just how tired I am, but I have to smile, be strong, and just keep going.
It was my birthday yesterday Steve
Hey Steve! It's been a long time, and I'm happy to tell you that I didn't end my life at 19. I'm still here navigating my life despite the hurricanes ahead of me. Thank you for making up most of my childhood finding clues. I hope you're having a great day and life too!
Hey Steve! This is my first post here. You are like the dad I never had. How is Blue doing? I hope she’s good. Anyway, I’m doing well.
I made it Steve. I made it this far.
These are just a few. There are hundreds. Hundreds.
I have a 13-year-old son who still loves ‘Blues Clues.’ He’s an empath. When he asks you questions, he really listens to you. Adults in his presence often remark about how exceptional his laser focus on whomever he’s talking to is.
I want to be more like him, Steve. Thanks for all the clues.
